To help you make things simpler, I will summarize the 6 top secrets to make blogging your full-time job.

Blogging As a Full-Time Job

Blogging is the most effective way to earn money with the least investment. Many people take up blogging as a business.

But not all of them survive in the process to enjoy the fruit of success. You must be wondering why am I suggesting you blog if I already know that people have failed in this field.

Well, the answer is simple. Because they lacked patience. Even though blogging might sound like a simple thing to do, you can not expect it to make you a successful blogger in a very short span of time. This, however, is not impossible either, if you know the secrets of blogging.

To be a successful blogger, you need 2 things.

  • First, you need to have a flair for writing.
  • Second, you need to be an expert in your niche.

If you can couple the two together then blogging can probably be your field. You can then start thinking about choosing it as a full-time career.

In the following section, I will tell you those 6 steps that will make you the most affluent of all bloggers. So let’s get started.

Blogging

No 1. Know Your Niche

The first thing you need to start a blog is to know what your niche is. Try finding out what your area of interest is. Do not write about something that doesn’t interest you. Because by doing that you are bound to lose the game.

You can be a good blogger only if you are a good reader. There are millions of bloggers out there. And most successful blogs are informative and interesting. Do you think the writers of these blogs write everything out of their own knowledge?

If you think that you are mistaken. Good bloggers read a lot before they write something. It’s actually like writing a research paper.

And your research paper needs to be as informative and elaborate as possible. It’s the same with blogs too. But what do you read and from where? That’s a good question to ask.

The internet is full of such brilliant resources. Quora is one such platform that I personally love. It’s the perfect platform to find an answer that you might be looking for.

The best thing is that you get to know your answers through people. Google Trends is another one. This is a great source to know what is trending among the readers.

No 2. The Way You Write

Once you know your topic, see what you want to write about that topic. For example, in this article, I am writing about blogging as a business. Under this, I may have several things to write about.

Like, how do you make money out of blogging, what are the resources you use to improve your blogging skills and so on.

I have on the contrary chosen to write a comprehensive article about how to start blogging and take it to another level to make money. So in my article, I will tell you about every step in a detailed manner instead of telling you about just a single step of blogging.

Similarly, when you have a topic in mind, you need to know exactly what you want to write about that topic. Jot down a few ideas and see which is the best you know about.

Then go ahead and do your research again. Try to read as much as you can on that topic. But make sure you do not plagiarise. Once you are done the reading, write everything down in your own words.

Now the next important thing is your tone of writing. It’s always best to write in a conversational tone. Write in a way that your reader feels that you are writing only and only for him/her.

Make use of the terms I and You. This will build up a rapport between you and your reader and develop a feeling that they are talking to a very close friend.

No 3. Optimize Your Post

The third and the most important step about blogging is to make your posts reachable to as many readers as possible. But how do you do that? Merely publishing it and posting it on social platforms won’t help.

You need to optimize your posts so that your posts get a better ranking in search engine results.

So what is SEO? SEO is the acronym for Search Engine Optimization. This is a process of making your posts visible to search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo and so on.

When you do that you increase the possibility of making your posts visible in top search results when your readers make a search with your keywords.

There are several guidelines that you need to follow when optimizing a post. I have already written about How to Optimize your Blog. In this article, I have written how you can do it in a step by step manner.

No 4. Publicize Your Blog Post

So now that your post has been optimized there is a high chance that it will reach out to people across the internet. This ensures that your articles are being read. You still have another option to make it go viral. Share it on social platforms.

Facebook and Instagram are the best platforms to make your friends and associates know about things that you want to share.

With these 4 steps, your job is done. You have done everything that you can kick-start your business. Now it’s your readers turn to decide how good your blog is.

Wait for their comments. Meanwhile, keep creating new posts and sharing. Do not keep your blog inactive. You must constantly keep writing, posting, and publishing.

No 5. Know Your Status

It is not difficult to know the status of your blog. Keep checking your blogs overall site ranking. You can do also keep a check on the number of shares, likes and reads that you get for each post.

Add a Commenting plugin to your blog and ask people to let you know their thoughts. There are tons of Commenting plugins available in the web market.

Once you know you have enough readers waiting for your next post, you know that your blogging career has taken off. Now it’s time for you to monetize your blog.

No 6. Monetize Your Blog

The last step that will complete your blogging business is to monetize your blog. Once you know that you have enough reader’s for your blog start making money by monetizing your it.

But make sure that you don’t blog only for money. Your blog is bound to be a victim of isolation if money is the only thing you have in mind.

There are several ways you can earn from your blog. Google Adsense is a great way to start with once you start getting enough traffic.

You can also resort to Affiliate Marketing. Affiliate Marketing is a very popular form of marketing, where you earn commission by promoting other company’s (or people’s) products.

In Affiliate Marketing, you recommend someone to an online product and based on your recommendation if the person purchases that product, you receive a commission from the product’s owner.

The only thing is that you need to strategize a plan before choosing your affiliate products. If you write about beauty and wellness and you choose a software product as your affiliate product, it is not going to make any sense.

Be careful that you choose your products depending on the niche of your blog. I have previously written about Affiliate Marketing and how to choose Affiliate Products.

There are other ways to earn money through your blog. Like writing paid reviews, banner ads etc.

Final Words

Starting a blog is easy, but to make it a success is the real challenge. There are millions of bloggers around the world. But not all of them are known to us.

Only a few have climbed the ladder to success and fame. It takes persistent time, effort and patience to build your reputation as a good blogger.

If you want to start blogging today and be popular tomorrow, it might not happen. Even though it is not that tough either. Do not be disheartened if you do not get a very good response in the beginning.

Keep trying. Do not give up.
