Every month

February 15, 2024

Every month, I find myself wondering, ‘Do I really need this, or can I just cancel my subscription?’ But, honestly, they surprise me every time. I’m especially fond of their documentary series.

Update my household shenanigans

February 14, 2024

This new tracking method Netflix has my whole family moving to Paramount. The mere fact that I have to share my every location with an app that provides TV makes me feel like Netflix is now the CIA, FBI, and my local police is it not impossible for people to live in more than one state yes to have more than one house yes and not be stealing from Netflix. And why do you care so much for a service that is so high you are $20 a month for four TVs who gives a flute where those TVs are The least of affix worries. I feel like Netflix is now so money, hungry.Netflix-YOUR JUST AN APP with Little to nothing new to watch.

Never a dull moment with them

February 13, 2024

Never a dull moment with them. I think Ricky Gervais was right years ago when he used to host golden globes and said that they should just cancel the ceremonies, invite netflix executives and tell them here you go, you won everything. It is the go-to for binge-watching a lot of things you might be looking for on the trending lists. Library is massive basically, from movies to documentaries, tv series, AND STAND UP SPECIALS! they are making a brilliant thing with them. It is reaally coool to be able to watch the names like dave chapelle, jim jefferies, jim carr and ricky gervais on it. I also love the nature and crime documentaries, well, who doesn’t? The user interface is brilliant even for those who are not absolutely savvy with the tech, just like me. slick, easy to navigate. Personalized recommendations are also really smart because there is no nonsense, if I have been binge watching some stand up comics, it offers me more comedians like the ones i have been watching. similar styles and deliveries. the only thing id note is that sometimes the things you love there don’t stay there forever, but i am sure there is a reasonable explanation for that.

Netflix Detail

Business model and pricing strategy

Subscription On-demand video

Netflix runs on a subscription video-on-demand ( SVOD)  model. Subscribers can pay monthly or yearly plans to access the vast media library anytime, anywhere, and on any device.

Thus subscriptions are Netflix’s main source of income, but unlike other apps like Spotify and youtube which also run on premium subscriptions, there is no free option in Netflix. This means all the members have to pay for the content they want to watch and enjoy.

Content cost and content acquisition

Over the years, Netflix spent more than 8.9 USD billion cash on streaming content. One of the reasons why Netflix has its vast library is that they acquire content from distributors and studios. They do this through direct purchases, revenue-sharing agreements, and license agreements.

Around 80% of Netflix’s revenue comes from licensed content and it also puts a premium on those shows branded with the Netflix logo in their upper left corner called  Netflix original.

In 2013 Netflix presented its original content generating more content for the user to watch.

It is expected that investments for original content can increase up to 50% of the content budget, according to industry experts.
